NEWSFLASH

Bannockburn and Eastern Villages Branch Labour Party, has selected local Community Nurse, Violet Weir, to fight the Stirling Council By-Election on 30th April.  Violet, who was born in Cowie, now lives in Bannockburn with her husband Alistair, an ex-miner who worked in the Polmaise Colliery.  They have two sons.

Violet has worked as a Community Staff Nurse for the past 10 years with NHS Forth Valley and has a good insight into the many issues facing the Bannockburn and Eastern Villages ward.

Following the Selection Meeting, Violet said:

“I am honoured to have been selected as the Scottish Labour Candidate for the Bannockburn and Eastern Villages by-election as I was born, married and now live in the Ward.  I am standing because I want to represent people across the area, in Plean, Cowie, Fallin, Throsk and Bannockburn and I will be taking this message to residents over the next few weeks.”
